Danny's 38th High School Class reunion and MS trip

We went to Danny's 38th Bentonia high school reunion on July 14, 2007 in Mississippi. We had a wonderful time seeing old friends and classmates. Lots of them had aged!! It was great to know that many had come to Christ and had a strong witness and walk with the Lord. Rebecca knew many of the people there too as she got to know them when we lived in the area for ten years. We got to the reunion at 4 and left by 8 pm. It was a great night of visiting and eating good old Mississippi farm raised catfish, hushpuppies, slaw, and french fries! On Sunday, we went back to First United Methodist Church in Yazoo City, MS where we worshiped and were a vital part of the ministry there for ten years. We had not been back in 17 years. The people saw us walking up and started swarming us with their love and hugs. It was great for us to see those we got to see and get in a quick visit. Isaiah was the topic of most conversations and Grandmama just happened to have her pictures with her to show him off! I also showed off John Paul, Laurie and Jennifer too!! We took Mamaw Sibley out for her 78th birthday. She had Papaw, all three of her sons, Danny, Calvin, and Dwight, and two of her daughter-in-laws, Rebecca and Cathy there to celebrate the evening with her. We got to visit cousins too while there. Then we left to go to Starkville, MS to be with Rebecca's mama. We worked hard to help clean out the "barn", the basement, and paint a bookcase and bring upstairs so Mama could display her milk bottles and other items that remind us all of Daddy. We went to the Cardwell Cheese Shoppe to see the display of the bust they had done of Rebecca's daddy, Dr. Joe T. Cardwell in whom the Cardwell Cheese Shoppe is named for. We bought good old MSU chocoloate ice cream and some peanut butter...not to eat around John Paul though! We loaded the truck with inherited items for Rebecca and her children, John Paul and Jennifer. We looked like the Beverly Hillbillys and got many stares as we drove back to SC!! We had a super time, but we are both worn out!

Mississippi trip July 2007

We enjoyed our time going to Danny's 38th Bentonia high school class reunion. There were 5 classes who met together so Danny got to see many of those he went through high school with. It was a great time of seeing how many had come to Christ over the years. We also took Danny's mama out for an early 78th birthday with Lamar, her three sons, Danny, Calvin, and Dwight and two daughter-in-laws, Rebecca and Cathy. We went to First United Methodist Church in Yazoo City for church on Sunday. We had not been back there to worship in 17 years. It was wonderful to renew friendships and be greeted warmly and with many hugs and good memories. We were announced from the pulpit as being there and many who had not seen us in the Fellowship Hall or Sunday School came up to talk to us after church. It was refeshing for both of us. We went by our old house on Wildwood Terrace Extension where we lived for 10 years and took some pictures. We left and went up to Starkville to be with Rebecca's mama for a few days. We worked hard in the "barn" and the basement and helped bring up a bookcase and paint it so mama can display her milk bottles and other items that reminds us of Daddy. We went to the Cardwell Cheese Shoppe and bought some great MSU chocolate ice cream and some peanut butter that will be eaten away from John Paul! We loaded our truck with inherited items for Rebecca, John Paul and Jennifer. One item is Rebecca's granddaddy's iron bed frame taht Jennifer is going to use in her new apartment. It was a super trip!!
